Joy
I am a professional weaver and designer from Hyde Park in Chicago who incorporates my love of nature and color in my line of handwoven apparel and prayer shawls.
I began my study of weaving at the University of Washington in 1967 and have also studied at the University of MInnesota, Minnesota Weavers Guild, and in various workshops and master classes with teachers who have included Gerhardt Knodel, Randall Darwall and Else Regensteiner. I also have an advanced degree from the University of Wisconsin in Genetics.
I taught color design and various levels of handweaving for the Weavers Guild of Minnesota and have been a longtime member of Artisans 21-an arts and crafts gallery in Hyde Park. My work also can be seen in other galleries and craft shows including the Maple Tree Gallery in Door County,
Wisconsin, and at the Community Art Fair in Hyde Park, Chicago.
